Burna Boy taking a break from music

Nigerian famous artist, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has revealed that in the future he may retiring from music industry due to the amount of money he will earn.

Burna Boy recently wrote to Instagram to reveal his latest contract signing, will show him if he loves music.

He said, “Looking at the money I’m getting from this contract, the next year of my life will show me if I love making music. God may be testing me for my love of music. I can be like Rihanna if I can retire from music.”

Burna Boy started to gain popularity outside of Nigeria with his single “Gbona” which became mega hits in 2019.

A few days ago, he made a record of filling the Citi Field Stadium in New York City, USA, in his concert on 9th July 2023, which took place in this stadium that usually accommodates 41,000 people, becoming the first African to fill it.

He also sang at the UEFA Champions League final in June this year, where Manchester City won the trophy against Inter Milan.

In June of this year, he made a historic concert in England, where he filled the ‘London Stadium’ with 80,000 people, becoming the first African to do so.

This artist is the latest to fill Madison Square Garden in the United States and he is the first African artist to perform this feat.

All this makes him the first artist in Nigeria to be paid his own money. Burna Boy has reached the price of 1 million US dollars, that is, more than a billion Rwandan francs per show or even more.
