World Cup qualifiers: Amavubi Stars draw with Zimbabwe

Rwanda Football National Team, Amavubi Stars, drew with Zimbabwe 0-0 in the first qualification match FIFA World Cup 2027 which will be held in Mexico, Canada and the United States of America.

This Wednesday,15:00, at Stade Huye, the Rwanda Football National Team hosted the Zimbabwe National team in the first match of Group C to qualify for the World Cup.

Amavubi Stars starting XI: Ntwari Fiacre, Imanishimwe Emmanuel, Ombolenga Fitina, Manzi Thierry, Mutsinzi Ange, Bizimana Djihadi, Mugisha Bonheur, Hakim Sahabo, Mugisha Gilbert, Byiringiro Lague and  Nshuti Innocent.

It’s a game that started with both teams possessing in their field, no team want to scream.

Zimbabwe XI: Bernard Donovan Fungai, Mbeba André Kabila, Hadebe Teenage Lingani, Takwara Jonh Gérard Tungamirai, Lunga Divine Xolile, Nakamba Marvelous, Banda Brian Jasper, Munetsi Marshall Nyasha, Dube Prince Mpumelelo, Musona Walter Tinotenda and Muskwe Admiral Dalindela.

In the 23rd minute, the Zimbabwean coach made a change, removing Muskwe Admiral Dalindera who had an eye injury, and replacing him with Dzvukamanja Terrence.

Zimbabwe in the 29th minute had a chance to score but goalkeeper Ntwari Fiacre saved.

The first half ended with the teams tied for 0-0. Except, the chance Rwanda got in the 37th minute, when Mugisha Gilbert’s shot was blocked.

At the start of the second half, the Amavubi coaches made a change, removing Biiriringo Lague and Mugisha Bonheur, replacing them with Niyonzima Olivier and Gitego Arthur.

At the 73rd minute, Amavubi Stars coach made another change, removing Nshuti Innocent and Hakim Sahabo, as they replaced by Sibomana Patrick and Muhire Kevin respectively.

Four minutes later, Rwanda made another change, including Imanishimwe Emmanuel, who had tied , and was replaced by Niyomugabo Claude.

90 minutes of regular time and 4 minutes of extra time ended with both teams failing to score and the match ending 0-0.

Rwanda will play the second match again, on November 21 against South Africa at Huye Stadium.
