Nigeria’s Rema to perform in Kigali

Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema has been named among the most anticipated artists in Rwanda at the Trace Awards and Festival.

On the social media of the Trace Group that launched the Trace Awards and Festival, they posted a message confirming that this young man who was among the contestants for the awards, is going to come to Rwanda.

Born on May 1, 2000, in Edo State, Nigeria, the rapper rose to prominence with the release of the song “Iron Man”, which appeared on Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist.

In 2019 he signed a contract with Jonzing World, Don Jazzy’s second Mavin Records in Africa, which also promoted artists including Tiwa Savage.

The Trace Awards and Festival is scheduled from Friday 20th to Saturday 22nd October this year at BK Arena. It is an event that will bring together different celebrities where awards will be given for the best performance and some will perform for the participants.

Trace Group has launched the Trace Awards and Festival to celebrate 20 years of service. Other highly anticipated artists include Davido, Yemi Alade, Fireboy DML, Diamond Platnumz and others from Europe, the Caribbean and beyond.

The last time Rema was in Rwanda was in 2021 where he performed in Kigali in a show that put an end to the basketball game of selected players in the Rwanda Championship sponsored by the Bank of Kigali (BK All-Star Game).
