President Kagame attends AI for Good Global Summit 2026
President Paul Kagame is in Geneva for the AI for Good Global Summit 2026, where he will co-chair the inaugural meeting of the newly launched AI for Good Global Commission.
Kagame will lead the Commission alongside Marc Benioff, CEO and co-founder of Salesforce, who serves as co-chair, and Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), who is vice-chair.
The summit, co-convened by the ITU and the Government of Switzerland, brings together heads of state and government, technology industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, innovators and civil society representatives to discuss artificial intelligence’s potential, develop standards for more inclusive opportunities and explore its role in advancing innovation.
Held under the theme “Unlocking AI’s potential to serve humanity,” the summit will focus on how artificial intelligence can contribute to addressing global challenges while ensuring broader access and benefits.
President Kagame will deliver remarks during the opening session and participate in a fireside chat marking the official launch of the AI for Good Global Commission. He will also chair the Commission’s inaugural meeting alongside other global leaders.
The AI for Good Global Commission is a high-level initiative bringing together leaders from governments, businesses and international institutions to address technical, socio-economic and policy issues related to artificial intelligence.
The Commission’s mandate is to identify practical pathways to strengthen trust in AI, expand access, build infrastructure, reduce inequalities and position artificial intelligence as a tool for solving global challenges.
