Ambassador Mukangira highlights investment opportunities for Indian investors

The Ambassador of Rwanda to India, Jacqueline Mukangira, encouraged Indian investors to invest in Rwanda’s fast-growing sectors and emphasized the strong bilateral relations between the two countries, which enhance cooperation in trade, infrastructure, ICT, agriculture, energy, tourism, health, and mining.

She made the remarks at the 4th Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Vadodara, held from 29 to 30 June.

Rwanda attended the conference as a Country Partner, alongside Singapore, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Japan and Ukraine.

Mukangira thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying his leadership had strengthened India’s international profile and its relations with Rwanda.

She described Rwanda as a safe country with a growing economy, strong governance, and investor-friendly policies, adding that it also offers access to wider African markets.

Mukangira said she held discussions with several Indian companies, many of which expressed interest in investing in Rwanda.

India is currently Rwanda’s second-largest investor and trading partner, with most investment originating from the state of Gujarat.

The Central Gujarat conference is the fourth in the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences series, following meetings in North Gujarat in October 2025, Kutch and Saurashtra in January 2026, and South Gujarat in May 2026.

Rwanda has participated as a partner country in all four conferences.

In 2017, Rwandan President Paul Kagame attended the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The next Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is scheduled for January 2027.
