Passengers in Kigali traveling to south,west and east ushered to specific bus parks amid holidays
City of Kigali, Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) has announced a new location for the public bus service for people who want to travel to the provinces during the festive season.
During the holidays and festive season, many people take trips, including those from the city who visit and enjoy times with their families in countryside. This had been subsquently resulting to overcrowding in the Nyabugogo main bus park, hence making the service inefficient.
RURA and City of Kigali have announced that, in order to facilitate travels during the festive period, from Saturday, December 30th to Sunday, December 31st, those wishing to travels to the provinces will be redirected to the designated waiting areas for the buses.
According to the announcement, Kigali City states that people traveling from Kigali to the southern Province and the Western province specifically to the districts of Nyamasheke, Karongi, Rusizi, Ngororero, and Rutsiro (through Karongi), will board their buses at the Kigali Pelé Stadium in Nyamirambo.
For those traveling to the Eastern Province from Kigali via Kabuga Road, they will take their buses at Kabuga Bus Station.
The announcement from the City of Kigali concludes by stating that those not mentioned in the announcement can take their buses at the locations they were originally waiting, namely Nyabugogo and Nyanza (Kicukiro) Bus Station.
