Health Ministry closes down 8 health facilities

Ministry of Health has announced that it has closed eight health facilities that are known for complimenting in medical services and providing alternative drugs over violation of the rules and regulations governing medical operations in Rwanda.

The Ministry announced the decision on Sunday, December 3, pointing out that some health facilities work under unfavourable premises, usage of illegal drugs and advertising drugs in the way which is contrary to the rules and regulations.

The closed health facilities are Kunga Therapy, Kingo Herbal Medicine, Muganga Rugamba, Fora urinde, Zeovia, African Culture Medicine Zeoviva, Green Vision Nutrition and Ijabo Life Center.

It said in a statement that “the decision was taken after an audit revealed that these health facilities have engaged in illegal operations and that they don’t comply with regulations.”

The Ministry of Health concludes the letter reminding that such illegal and unlicensed operations that have not given the approval by the Rwanda’s FDA are prohibited and serious measures will applied to those who go against.
