Govt eases night time restrictions amid festive season
The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has announced that the Government has changed the operating hours in the night as Rwandans ushers in festive Season. The changes will start effective on December 15, 2023 until January 7 next year.
RDB states that in light of the end-of-year festive celebrations, the Government of Rwanda wants people to celebrate and enjoy fully the festive season.
RDB further states that hospitality service providers, including hotels, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, will operate until 5:00 am from Friday throughout the weekend or public holiday, however from Monday to Thursday, those activities are restricted to work until 2:00 and close.

RDB says it will collaborate with other government institutions in implementation of these guidelines, and those who would violate them will be punished.
Furthermore, RDB reminds people that it is prohibited to serve alcohol to an intoxicated person. Consumers are urged to drink responsibly and those with vehicles should refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol.
