EALA Games: Ugandan MPs bag Rwandan counterpart 12 goals, Hon. Mukabalisa shines in Athletics
The Ugandan parliamentarians defeated their Rwandan counterpart 12-0 in the second match of the 13th EAC Inter-Parliament Games tournament being held in Rwanda.
From December 8th to December 19th, the EALA Games are taking place in Rwanda, have brought together members of Parliaments from the East African Community.
On December 11, the 4th day of the tournament included various sports such as football, athletics, and tug of war.
In football, at Kigali Pelé Stadium, the match between the Rwandans and Ugandans, the Rwandan side was given a package of 12 goals in one match.
The match went wrong for the Rwandan Parliamentarians. However, the team had tried to perform well in their first match against EALA Parliament, with a draw results.
In athletics, Rwandans performed well as Hon. Germaine Mukabalisa won the gold medal in the 400-meter race. The event took place at Bugesera Stadium, and the Honorable defeated all competitors in the 400-meter race.
On the X account, Rwanda Parliament expressed pride for Mukabalisa for her excellent performance in the 400-meter race.
“Day 4 of EALA Games 13 marks another victory for Rwanda as Hon. Mukabalisa Germaine wins the gold medal in the women’s 400-meter athletics competition.” Rwanda Parliament wrote on X.
On Tuesday, basketball and volleyball games will also be played. Rwanda will compete against South Sudan in women’s basketball, while Uganda will face Tanzania. The games will be held at the Lycee de Kigali Gymnasium.
In men’s volleyball, Rwanda is playing against Uganda, while Kenya is playing against South Sudan.
Other categories of sports being played include golf and netball.
