Lt. Gen (rtd) Charles Kayonga appointed as new Rwanda’s ambassador toTürkiye
Lt. Gen. (rtd)Charles Kayonga, the former Chief of Defence Staff of RDF and a seasoned diplomat, has been appointed as Rwanda’s new ambassador to Türkiye.
The appointment was announced by the statement from Wednesday’s cabinet meeting that was chaired by Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente.
Lt Gen Kayonga who recently retired from military is replacing Fidelis Mironko who had been the ambassador of Rwanda to Türkiye since 2020.
The former Chief of Defence Staff in Rwanda Defence Force returns to diplomacy after years. He once been the Rwanda’s ambassador to China.
The cabinet meeting saw other appointments in government orngans including the National Land Authority. It also anounced approvals to different envoys who will represent their respective countries to Rwanda.
