CECAFA U-18: Amavubi lost in a clash against Kenya

The National football team Amavubi under 18, has lost the match against Kenya in the 2nd match of the CECAFA U-18 tournament that is ongoing in Kenya.

On Tuesday morning, at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Group A saw match between Rwanda and Kenya which the young Harambe stars obtained a win, Kenya1:0 Rwanda.

The game was a breakthrough to 1/2 round for all teams as they had all won their previous matches.

Amavubi had beaten Somalia 1-0, while Kenya had slapped Sudan 5-0.

Kenya’s goal was scored by Louise Ngavi in the first half. The only goal was enough to make the difference and mark the winner of the game.

Amavubi’s coach, Jean Baptiste Kayiranga attributed the loss to misperfornmance of his players in pressing the opponent.

“Our attacking line was weak while Kenyans pressed us until they scored ”

Kenya has eventually secured the 1/2 ticket, hence leading the group with 6 points so far. For the Amavubi, they supposed to win the third match in the group against Sudan to obtain the second place and the ticket to 1/2 games.

Kenya Football National Team advanced in ½ of CECAFA U-18.
