Bukedde 1 launches on Canal+ Rwanda

Canal+ Rwanda has launched Bukedde 1 Tv,  first channel that airs content in Luganda dedicated to customers who speak the language.

Vision Group’s Bukedde 1 Tv is now available on CANAL+ Rwanda, a multichannel digital satellite TV service.

Moses Ateng, the head of content distribution at Vision Group, said that this channel offers a unique perspective on information, news, and functional content, and is a powerhouse of entertainment.

“We are happy that we are going to show in Rwanda what is going on on television that has captured the hearts of many not only in Uganda.” he noted.

He noted that they are closely looking forward to reaching more subscribers in Rwanda and in French-speaking countries.

The Director General of Canal+ Rwanda, Sophie Tchatchoua indicated that this agency has placed the Bukedde1 channel in the list of programs after the evaluation of the channels in different areas.

“I think he is a powerful channel not only in Uganda but also in other parts of the region.” Tchatchou said

She remarked that Rwanda and Uganda are like brothers and that this television will be extremely helpful to the many people who have relatives who need to know local information.

“At Canal+, we strongly believe in local content and we are ready to invest in its development. ” she said.

Brig. Gen. Dr. Emmanuel Shillingi, the Uganda Defense Advisor (DA) in Uganda High commission to Rwanda, who was the guest of honor, highlighted that the acceptance of the presence of Bukedde 1 in Rwanda is a sign of bilateral relationships between the two countries.

” This media group will add values to the awerenes to what is going on in Uganda and here in Rwanda.” Brig. Gen. Dr Shillingi.

He added that people are misinformed due to miscommunication, thus optimistic that Bukedde 1 will offer an expansion of mileage visibility, and an important tool in national development.

Canal+ subscribers will be able to watch Bukedde 1 Tv on Channel 394, starting from the ‘Ikaze’ monthly package, which offers clients access to over 188 channels at just Rwf5,000.
