Amavubi improves seven spots at global monthly ranking

Rwanda’ National football team, Amavubi Stars, has moved 7 places up in the monthly FIFA ranking as announced on Thursday, November 30. The team has risen from 140 place to 133.

The rise was attributed to the recent good performance of the national team in international games.

For instance, Amavubi obtained a draw result with a clean sheet from the match against Zimbabwe and the team recently stunned South Africa with 2:0 win, both in 2026 FIFA World cup Qualifiers that will take place in USA, Canada and Mexico.

As results, Amavubi Stars have bagged four points from the two matches which made them to chair on the first seat in the Group C.

Globally, National team of Argentina still leads the ranking, followed by France and England on the third place.

In Africa, Morocco holds the front place and 13th globally . It is followed by Senegal and Tunisia.

In the CECAFA region, Uganda leads with 92nd rank globally and 19th in Africa.

The nearest place that Amavubi recorded in history was in 2015, when it ranked the 68th under English coach, Stephen Constantine.
